Today I randomly had the "following the leader" song from Peter Pan stuck in my head. I couldn't quite remember how it went so I decided to watch a video of it on youtube. What struck me was that while watching it, it brought back feelings/memories from my childhood of watching Peter Pan. I have noticed that when I see a little bit of a movie that I haven't watched since I was really young, that I somehow remember the feelings I had while I was originally watching it as a child.
Do you experience the same thing while watching a movie from your childhood?
Peter Pan: Following The Leader
Heck ya! :) I love watching children's movies...one time my husband (to-be at the time) really had been wanting to watch Lion King. He had fond memories of watching it a LOT when he was young. So, I decided to surprise him with a date idea. We first pretended to be little kids on a playground pirate ship, then we went to his house and built a huge fort and watched Lion King in the fort! So FUN! I love being a kid!
ReplyDeleteThat totally happens to me, too! In fact, not too long ago I was on a media kick from my childhood or youth. It felt SO good going back watching all my childhood favorite movies and listening to music from my high school years. It takes me back to no worries and happy memories. I'm totally going to be one of those Mom's that goes crazy when "oldies" from my era come on the radio. My kids are gonna love it :)
ReplyDeleteHappens to me too! Although I think I have more memories emerge when I listen to music.
ReplyDeleteya I do sometimes it's really cool but so strange at the same time. That happens to me with random smells as well.
